How To Trust In The Lord? Proverbs 3:5

Many people in the Bible trusted in God and even gave their hearts to God. But it is worth it, yes, of course. God is their creator.

They trust in the living God, believe in him, love him, and walk in his ways.

Today, there are still people who trust in God, and there are also people who live their lives wanting nothing to do with God, especially nonbelievers.

I believe that trusting in God is the best decision in life, because God is trustworthy and Full of truth, also whatever he saith come to pass. OUR GOD CAN’T LIE—number 23:19.

Proverbs 3:5 KJV

“ Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. “

So, this verse means to trust in God with all our hearts and souls, and not to walk in our own understanding or in the imagination of our hearts—God over everything. Trust in God as David did, and he says in the Psalms many times that he trusts in God. Let me show you one of the verses.

Psalm 25:2 KJV

“ O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. “

You know, in my life, I have memorized so many of David’s psalms, and I used to praise God with them every single day. Life is short, so I advise you, people, to trust in God most high, and believe me, you will never regret it. Indeed, God gave us life, and it’s up to us to choose how to live.

For example, some people are so focused on work and or other things, they don’t even have time for God, even though they call themselves a Christian. They don’t make decisions to be closer to God.

Furthermore, there are some people, even though they are busy in life, whether going to school 🏫 or work, they make time for God, such as listening to preachers, reading the Bible, and praying 🙏. If you ask, how do they have time? It is because they put God first, and God is very important to them.

God is their priorities

trust in God even when it hurts

Everyone indeed goes through hardship in life sometimes, and please remember the words of Jesus, how he says “ in the world you will have tribulations “, and the word ” tribulations it means problems. John 16:33

These are the characters in the Bible who trust in God even when it hurts

David

David is the man who trusted in God and defeated Goliath and all his enemies. David fought 66 wars and never lost one. He trusts and believes in God, who will deliver him from all his enemies.

Furthermore, the Bible says God preserves David wherever he goes. See 2 Samuel 8:14. David kept trusting in God even when it hurt, because King Saul tried to kill him out of jealousy and fear that David might take his throne.

David was crying; Psalm 6:6 KJV

“ I am weary with my groaning; all night I make my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears. “

We know that David trusted in God from a young age, and even as he grew old, he continued to trust in the most powerful God.

Joseph

Joseph was a good man, but I think his brothers hated him because his father, Jacob, loved him more than all his brothers. His brothers sold him into slavery in Egypt; however, Joseph remained faithful and trusted in God, and the Bible says God was with him, and he became a prosperous man. See ( Genesis 39:2).

He was hurt because Potiphar’s wife accused him wrongly, and Potiphar believed his wife, and he was angry and sent Joseph to prison. Joseph was in jail for 12 to 13 years for things that he did not commit.

Although he is in prison, Joseph still trusted and was faithful to God; God was with him throughout circumstances in life. Joseph had a good ending, he got married and has 3 kids.

Moreover, he saved the lives of many nations, including his family, from famine because for seven years Joseph was prepared to restore food and grow corn 🌽. Genesis 41:48.

Jesus

Even though Jesus is God, the Bible says Jesus is the Son of God. John 20:31 and Matthew 16:16. Yes, Jesus went through hardship in life, and people even tried to stone him and kill him because they did not believe in him; however, Jesus overcame all difficulties and struggles in life.

Jesus himself saith, “ I have overcome

the world “ John 16:33. You know, Satan, known as the devil, tempted Jesus three times, yet Jesus overcame all the temptations. Jesus chose to do what is good and right. Before Jesus was going to be crucified, he was sorrowful and sad. He knew the future and that he was going to suffer. However, Jesus put God first in his heart and sought to do God’s will. Always God’s will to be done, not his.

Matthew 26:38 KJV

“Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. “.

Jesus was very, very sad 😔, but he still trusted in God.

More people in the Bible trusted in the Lord.

Remember Abraham. God told him to leave his land, and he immediately obeyed, even though he did not even know where he was going. This shows he trusted in God.

And God told Abraham to sacrifice his son, and Abraham obeyed God even though he loved his son so much that he completely obeyed God, and he did not complain in his heart. You know God was testing Abraham, and Abraham had passed the test; therefore, God made Abraham the father of all nations.

What does it mean to trust in the Lord?

#1 surrender

To trust in God is to surrender yourself to God, likely like letting go and letting God. You all know that David trusts in God completely, and one of the verses in the Psalms he saith

Psalm 31:5 KJV

“Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth. ”

This verse is sound as he surrenders to God; when he saith, “ I commit my spirit, “ he is willing to do the will of God also. Acts 13:22.

Furthermore, giving your heart to God is truly surrender, and trusting that God can do anything will ease your mind and let God be in control of your situation.

#2 believe in God

When you trust in God, you will believe in what he can do and his capabilities. Joshua and Caleb can enter the promised land because they trust in God and follow him. Fully. Number 13:30.

Believe that God can do anything. Trust in God, and you will never worry about your situation, because you believe God can do it.

Jesus was saying, if we have faith as a mustard seed, if we say this or that, we can move mountains. Matthew17:20.

So, no doubt God created the heaven and the earth, even the angels; He made them all, thus our God is powerful.

Jesus saith, have faith in God. So keep on believing in him and doubt not.

#3 obey

When we trust in God, we will obey him. Throughout David’s life, he obeyed God’s laws and commandments and walked in God’s ways.

However, King Saul was not obedient to God, and he offered the burnt offering, which was not his to offer except by the priest. And God rejected him as king.

However, David trusted and obeyed God, and he always put God first in his life.

And finally, remember the life of Job, he lost everything, and Satan gave him a sore disease, he did not curse God, nor did he say anything bad about God in the end. God restored his health, and he is richer than before. What a happy ending.

Job trusts in God completely

Job 13:15 KJV

“Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him. “

Final thoughts

Life is not easy. We live in a world where we have to pay rent and bills, and it can be frustrating, especially when you have a low-paying job. However, I say let us trust in God, and that God can give you better jobs and a better life.

Everyone goes through hardships in life sometimes, but don’t be discouraged; let us seek to do God’s will, not our own.

Trust and believe that God can change every situation and circumstance in life, because our God is mighty and can do anything.

Let us put our hope in the Lord.

My advice is pray and seek God continually.

And now the moral of the story, don’t doubt God when you can”t solve your problems, just know that God can and that he can solve all types of issues.

In the day of Joshua, God made the moon stand still so that the moon did not go down, so imagine, if God can do that, God can do everything.
