King Solomon Story For Kids: Bible Story

Today, I will be writing about a story of Solomon, a great and powerful king.

You know God loves Solomon when he was born, and thus I believe that God does know his heart and even his future.

2 Samuel 12:24 KJV

She bore a son, and he called his name Solomon: and the LORD loved him.

When Solomon was growing up and also loved the God of Heaven and the earth.

1 Kings 3:3 KJV

And Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places.

Solomon was the greatest king who ever lived upon the face of the earth in his time, for he was wiser than everyone, meaning he was smart and knowledge

I will be talking about King Solomon’s life, so keep reading.

How does Solomon’s wisdom come from? And even though his kingdom was falling? And how many wives did he have?

We all know that Solomon is known for building the temple of the Lord, or the house of the Lord, and that it took him 7 years.

Who is King Solomon?

Well, Solomon was chosen by God after David and ruled both the nation of Israel and the kingdom of Judah.

Furthermore, Solomon was famous for his wisdom, and he did Judge righteous. David, the father of Solomon, called his son young and tender.

1 Chronicles 22:5. David is a great expert warrior and fought many wars and battles, and he won them all.

However, Solomon is a man of rest, peace, and quietness, and the Lord gives him rest from all his enemies round about him.

Do you know that another Solomon has another name, which is called ( Jedidiah), which means beloved of the Lord.

Wow, it feels wonderful when God loves us. When Solomon became king, he chose to have 700 wives lol. But do you know why?

He married many women from other kingdoms to avoid war and keep the peace.

1 Kings 11:3 KJV

And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.

The wife of Solomon worshiped false gods, such as Ashtoreth and Molech. It may be that Solomon loved his wives so much that he began to forget his God.

Yes, Solomon’s heart did turn from God, and God was angry with Solomon.

1 Kings 11:9.However, God made him God all the day of his life for the sake of David, His servant. anyways, Solomon wrote the books of proverbs, Song of Solomon and Ecclesiastes.

His wisdom and knowledge do not come from studying so hard with his teachers but come from God.

Solomon Asks God for Wisdom

One day, Solomon went to Gibeon to sacrifice to God, and Gibeon was a high place.

Wow, Solomon offers to God thousands of sacrifices, and that is so many animals. Yes, and the Bible saith in Gibeon appear to Solomon, 3:5.

The purpose of God’s visit to Solomon was to give him the desires of his heart.

Guess what Solomon asks? Is it a ship full of gold or treasure? Or is it to rule the whole world?

I mean, does he wish to be the only king, and for everyone on earth to serve him? Solomon asked God for an understanding of the heart that he might judge the people of God, for they are millions.

1 Kings 3:9 KJV

Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who can judge this thy so great a people?

Yes, and then his speech pleased God, and God granted him his wish.1 Kings 3:12 KJV

Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart.

Furthermore, the Bible says God also gave King Solomon riches and honor.

Furthermore, God warned Solomon that if he walks in his ways and keeps his commandments, God will lengthen his days. This means God will give Solomon a long and fulfilled life.

Solomon’s wisdom and the wise judgment

Two women came to Solomon and wanted King Solomon to solve their problems, but who were those women?

The Bible says they are harlots, in other words, they are prostitutes. Both of the women claim that the dead child was theirs, and they argue among themselves.

The king solved this problem through God’s wisdom. Good thing God has already given Solomon’s wisdom; King Solomon could be embarrassed as king if he didn’t know what to do. lol. How did King Solomon solve this situation?

Solomon asked for a sword and commanded his man to cut the child in half. The real mother speaks up and says, ” Don’t kill the child, and give her the child, but the fake mother says, ” Divide it.

The birth mother really loves her child, and it is unbearable to see that his child is being killed, and Solomon perceives that she is the birth mother because she has compassion for the child.

Wow, indeed, Solomon was a wise and smart king. If you were the king? What will you do?

Lessons from King Solomon’s life and final thoughts

The lesson is that wise people do not always make the right decisions and sometimes make mistakes.

Even though David is not as wise as his son, Solomon, he has a heart for God, praises God, keeps his ways, and has been doing what is good and right in the eyes of God for all the days of his life.

I believe that David’s heart is very pure and righteous. And Jesus came from the line of King David. Solomon is a good king, and God has spoken to him twice in his lifetime.

Furthermore, the Bible says Solomon did not have a perfect heart like his father, David, because he disobeyed God and did not obey God’s commandments.

He marries strange women who worship false gods, so it may be that his wife wants him to worship them, and he obeys, maybe because he loves and cares for his wife and her feelings.

Thus, Solomon’s fall was that his wife turned his heart away from the living God. This is why his kingdom was divided, and God gave his kingdom to his servant.

Imagine if he had not had so many wives, or if he had chosen for himself a wife who loves God, trusts God, and walks in God’s way, then his story would be so wonderful and sweet.

Anyway, everyone makes mistakes in life, even King David, though God anointed him.

God loves Solomon so much, and when he did evil in the sight of God, God was angry with him, lol, and Solomon showed no sign of repentance.
