Genesis 25, the story of Esau and Jacob, is very interesting and tells of Abraham’s grandchildren.
God knows everything, even the future.
Rebekah was barren and couldn’t have children, so Isaac entreated or prayed to God for his wife. Yes, God does listen to him.
And Rebekah was pregnant, and in her womb the children were struggling.
And she is curious to know what is going on, and she asks God, and God hears her prayer and saith to her;
God saith to Rebekah, the wife of Isaac,
And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.
Yes, Rekekah had two twin baby boys. Lol.
I think the couple was very happy about getting a baby because Rebekah was barren and couldn’t have children for a long time.
But God is with Isaac, the son of Abraham, and even prospers him, and makes him a rich man, and his enemies are jealous of him.

Background Jacob and Esau Overview

Jacob and Esau were born twins, and they struggled in their mother’s womb.
When Rebekah deliver their baby boys, Esau was coming out first, and he was a red-haired man. However, Jacob emerged from his mother’s womb as an ordinary man.
Career of the two brothers!
The Bible says Esau was a cunning hunter. I think he is a very skilled hunter, very good with arrows, and also a leader. The Bible says Esau has four hundred men later in the story.
The Bible described Jacob as a plain man who dwelt in a tent ⛺. I think Jacob is a Shepherd and takes care of sheep and goats.
Isaac loves Esau because he gets to eat his son’s deer 🦌 that he hunts. Wow, I think this is very tasty. And now we know that Abraham’s son, Isaac, loved to eat venison, or deer meat.
Rebekah loves Jacob.
One day, Esau came from the field, faint. Genesis 25:29. He is extremely hungry.
At the moment, Jacob was cooking sod portage. That is porridge lentil soup.
Esau asked for the food that Jacob was cooking; however, Jacob said to him, ” Sell me your birthright?
However, Esau was like, I was so starved to the death, birthright can’t fulfill my stomach, at that moment, Esau agreed to sell to Jacob his birthright.
And the Bible says;
Genesis 25:34 KJV
Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentils; and he did eat and drink, and rose, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.
So, in other words, we can know and understand that Esau values food more than his own birthright, which can also mean he doesn’t care
What is the meaning of birthright?
Birthright is an inheritance, and wealth, such as lands, cattle, and the richest, as in Deuteronomy 21:17.
God knows that’s why God saith the elder shall serve the younger.
What are the Lessons from Jacob and Esau?

The lesson was that you reap what you sow, and when I said this, I was thinking of Jacob, because he deceived his father, Isaac, to get his father’s blessing.
And you know, it wasn’t actually Jacob’s plan; it was Rebekah’s. He wanted Jacob to receive the blessing from his father, not Esau. Rebekah love his son Jacob.
The plan was carried out successfully, and Isaac blessed Jacob.
When Esau came to know about this, he was crying so much, even talking about killing his brother Jacob because he was angry; however, Esau still wanted the blessings for his father.
Genesis 27:38 KJV
And Esau said unto his father, Hast thou but one blessing, my father? Bless me, even me also, O my father. And Esau lifted his voice and wept.
However, Isaac cannot take back his blessing, for he has already blessed his son, Jacob
Issac and Rebekah send their son, Jacob, to Laban to take a wife there, not in the land of Canaan, and Jacob is willing to obey his father and mother.
Jacob went to Laban and met Rachel, the love of his life. He loved Rachel so deeply, falling in love with her beauty.
And he worked for Laban for 7 years for Rachel; however, Laban deceived him, and again, Jacob worked another year for Rachel.
Jacob loves Rachel so much, and time flies by so quickly. Rachel gave Jacob two children, Joseph and Benjamin. Leah gave Jacob 7 children.
Jacob had 12 sons and became the ancestor of the 12 tribes of Israel.
Lesson from Jacob
He deceived his father, Isaac, to get his blessing, and Laban deceived him, intending to marry both his daughters to Jacob.
However, God bless Jacob, prosper him, and may He watch over the cattle become greater and greater.
Yes, Jacob endured hardship in labor for 14 years, but still God is with him. Jacob loves Rachel so much, and Rachel looks so beautiful and cute.
God is a merciful God, and even change the name of Jacob to Israel. .
Jacob is an obedient man, because he listens to his parents, to marry a woman that pleases them, I guess the right woman that loves God also, and not being far from God
Lesson from Esau
He is willing to sell his birthright and or his inheritance because of hunger and fainting.
The lentil soup he eats costs only 5 bucks, but his birthright is worth millions.
Furthermore, Esau married a woman who displeased his father and mother.
