Hello 👋 and welcome to my article. Today I will be preaching why about why Jesus is crying and also I will provide a reason.
You know Jesus is fully God, and he came down from heaven so when he was on the face of the earth I believe that he was fully human but he still had the power to do the miracles.
Jesus indeed went through a lot in life, but he is overcoming. I think that Jesus was in the flesh and experienced what humans experience hence why he cried.
Jesus does have feelings and also emotions; furthermore, He is a merciful and forgiving, loving and caring person.
I will explain the reason why he cried when Lazarus died knowing for sure that he was able to raise Lazarus back to life again.

Jesus cried over the death of Lazarus
First of all, I want to say that you can read the story in John 11:33-35.
Yes, Lazarus is a friend of Jesus, the Bible does not mention things like Lazarus hanging out with Jesus or going out like praying or eating together.
When Jesus arrived at Bethany where Lazarus was, it was already too late because Lazarus had already died four days before.
The Bible says Jesus wept John 11:35. But why? But before that. He he look at Mary and she was weeping and crying also, and the Jews were also crying before Jesus and
The Bible says that Jesus was groaning in spirit and he wept. I think therefore that the reason why Jesus was crying is that:
- He looks at the people crying which makes him want to cry too maybe he feels compassion and grief
- He loves Mary and Martha and Lazarus and I think Jesus was crying because he loved people so much in his heart
- Jesus is fully man, so he does have feelings.
Anyways, in the end, he did raise Lazarus back to life.
Jesus Wept Over Jerusalem?
Yes, it’s true that Jesus was crying before he entered the city.
Luke 19:41 KJV
And when he came near, he beheld the city, and wept over it.
We are wondering why Jesus cried over Jerusalem, surely he had a reason for it. And according to my research:
Jerusalem was destroyed by the Romans in AD 70 yes, the army was destroyed by Titus who led an army of 60,000 troops, and you know to my surprise, hundreds of thousands of people perished
They destroyed the temple and Jesus even prophesied it. Luke 19:44 Jesus sees what will happen in the future, so he cries over it.
And this shows the character of Jesus that he loves his people so much and he does not want to see their suffering. Maybe Jesus could have prevented it from happening if they had not rejected him and kept his ways.
It happened 40 years later after Jesus prophecy wow, I can verify and say that Jesus knew the future and had all powers and his power never ran out.
Jesus cried before he was on the cross?
Yes, Jesus did cry & you know he was extremely sorrowful and said. Jesus saith:
Matthew 26:38 KJV
Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
And now, I just want you to know that when you are sorrow it makes you want to cry yes and that is the fact. And you know Jesus was in great agony and he was praying, but the angel strengthened him. Luke 22:43-44.
And we know that Jesus cried in Hebrews 5:7. Jesus was willing to do what he came for which is to die for our sins and he knew what he was doing.
Jesus knew that his time was up and he knew he was going to suffer, and he was beaten, spit on, and whipped. Mark 15:15. Also, a crown of thorns was pressed into His head, and even mocked and insulted.
And Jesus endured the pain.
If Jesus is God, why did he have to cry?
Even God himself although being God, yes, he does get angry. God was angry with Solomon because his heart turned from him but we know that the Bible says God loved Solomon.
Doesn’t the Bible say God was grieved in the days of Noah? Genesis 6:6. Nevertheless you know God gives us free will and does not force us into walking in His ways and being obedient to him.
And now go answering the questions, Jesus cried because he is fully human and knows what human suffering is like, and even pain as well. Hebrews 4:15
Jesus wept, and also was tempted by satan 3 times, and also was in agony before the cross, which means he was in deadly pain. However, Jesus’ choice to do which only right and good in God’s eyes.
By the way, the Bible talks about Jesus in Isaiah 53:3-5.

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
[4] Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
[5] But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Yes, it’s true, people hate Jesus for no reason and Jesus was also rejected. He did for our sins that we may live.
Conclusion
When Jesus was on earth, I think he was in the flesh and fully man and God at the same time, thus he
Yes, Jesus loves us dearly and knows that Jesus is caring for us and he died for our sins; otherwise, we would end up in hell forever & ever.
Jesus has completed his mission and also shown us his ways. When we go to hell is because we choose to do whatever we want. And not walking in his way.
